Step by Step

Step 1: Book a Service

  • Head to bookmechanic.uk.
  • Enter your vehicle registration number.
  • Choose your required service or describe the issue.
  • Select your location and preferred date/time.
  • Get an instant quote based on your vehicle and service type.

Step 2: Job Broadcast to Mechanics

  • Your booking is instantly shared with our network of vetted mobile mechanics in your area.
  • Available mechanics can review your request and choose to accept the job.

Step 3: Job Accepted

  • Once a mechanic accepts your job, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the mechanic’s profile and contact information.
  • You can communicate with the mechanic directly through your customer portal if needed.

If No Mechanic Accepts the Job (Job Declined)

  • If no available mechanic accepts your job within a certain time frame, you’ll be notified by email or SMS.
  • You’ll have the option to:
    • Adjust your preferred time or date.
    • Expand your service radius (to include more mechanics).
    • Try a different service or rebook later.
  • Our support team may also step in to help match you with a mechanic manually.

If an Alternative Time/Date is Offered

  • Sometimes a mechanic may want to take the job but can’t meet your original request.
  • In that case, you’ll receive a proposed alternative time or date through your customer portal.
  • You can:
    • Accept the proposed new time.
    • Decline and wait for another mechanic to accept.
    • Cancel or reschedule entirely from your account dashboard.

Step 4: Service Carried Out

  • The mechanic arrives at your chosen location to perform the service.
  • They may provide an inspection checklist or photos before and after the work (depending on the service).

Step 5: Payment & Documentation

  • Once the job is complete, you’ll receive an invoice through the platform.
  • Pay securely online using your preferred payment method.
  • Any warranty or documentation is stored in your customer portal.

Step 6: Leave a Review

  • Help others by leaving a review based on your experience.
  • Your feedback helps us maintain high standards on the platform.
